STEP 19 – COOKING TIME

broken image

The day is quickly slipping away, and now it’s (already) time to prepare for dinner.

“Wouldn’t it be great,” you think, “if I had something quick and easy to put together?”

Spaghetti, grilled meat, or something or other for the Instant Pot? Anything?!?

(But something that tastes great and that the family will love, of course!)

Here are a few recipes that are perfect for adding Essential Oils so that your food not only has a great flavor, but is helping your body in other ways, too.

TIP: When adding Essential Oils to your cooking, keep this in mind. Less is best! Only one or two drops can make a huge difference in your dish, so use sparingly.

ESSENTIALLY ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE RECIPE

• 2 pounds Roma Tomatoes, halved

• 1 Onion, sliced

• 4 Garlic Cloves

• Olive Oil

• Sea Salt

• Pepper

• 1 drop Thyme Essential Oil

• 1 drop Basil Essential Oil

• 1 toothpick Oregano Essential Oil

Preheat oven to 350° F. Place sliced tomatoes, onions, and garlic on baking sheet.

Add a generous amount of sea salt, pepper, and olive oil to top of tomatoes and onion.

Cook for one to two hours or until tomatoes and onions begin to darken around the edges. Remove from oven and transfer to food processor or blender. Pulse until sauce reaches your desired consistency. Add Thyme, Basil, and Oregano Essential Oils and stir.

EO MEAT RUB RECIPE

• 2 tbsp. unrefined Sea Salt

• 2 drops Basil Essential Oil

• 1 drop Thyme Essential Oil

• 1 drop Marjoram Essential Oil

• 1 drop Rosemary Essential Oil

• 1 drop Black Pepper Essential Oil

Place salt in a small bowl. (Use glass, ceramic, or stainless steel. Do not use plastic.)

Add Essential Oils. Stir or whisk to combine. Pour into storage jar. (Again, use glass, ceramic, or stainless steel.) Add a label.

INSTANT POT EO SPRING ROLL RECIPE

• 1 lb. ground pork or any other meat you would like

• 1 bag pre-shredded, 3-color deli coleslaw mix found in the produce section near the bagged salads

• 1/2 c. bone broth/or beef stock

• 1 tbsp. soy sauce

• 1 tbsp. garlic powder

• 1 - 2 drops Ginger Essential Oil

• 1/2 tsp. pepper

• 1/2 tsp. salt

Place Instant Pot on saute. Wait until it's hot and then add pork (or meat of choice). Add seasonings, Essential Oil, and soy sauce and brown meat. Drain fatter meats. When meat is browned, turn Instant Pot off and add the 1/2 cup bone broth. Add bag of coleslaw mix on top and DO NOT stir. Place lid on and turn knob to sealing position. Set Instant Pot on manual high pressure for 0 minutes. If you have a newer model Instant Pot, you select the pressure cook button instead for 0 minutes. And, yes 0 minutes is correct. Just keep hitting the - button until the timer reaches 0. When the timer is up, do a quick release. When pressure is released, open carefully and give everything a quick stir. Spoon into bowls and enjoy with pita chips or make your own egg roll chips!
